In other #news we update you on yet another suggestion to improve the Vegas Strip and explain why so many of you are upset with our ideas. Plus four Vegas casinos have been robbed in the past 6 weeks. Is this an epidemic? We also discuss Caesars’ holiday gift to employees and the new buffet replacement that just opened at Aria.

What no Chris Angel jokes . But yes food courts are out of hand and then they want 15-20% tip on top to hand you a bag

Sorry guys but gamblers only tip when they actually get ahead not when they are losing. People don’t wanna tip anymore because the corporations are ripping everyone that gos to Vegas off. I used to go to Vegas 3 times a year with a minimum of $5k depending on how long I stayed. Most of the time it was a 6 night 7 day trip. Vegas has lost all that money from me and many others. GAMBLERS. This town has lost their identity. Gamblers built Vegas corporations are destroying it… GO TO DEADWOOD. They take very good care of real gamblers

That "Food Hall" looks cool, I'll go try some of the foods there when I'm back at The Aria next year. Looks very similar to Block 16 at the Cosmo and Street Foods at Resorts World.

The robbers are just next level gamblers with much better odds. Life isn’t fare.

As a visitor to Vegas – agree that the walking experience is terrible. Would love to see a gondola experience. That would be very cool.

It seems that anyone can open a Pizza place nowadays. Someone needs to go to NYC or Chicago to see how pizza is really made before opening a pizza parlor. Pizza is so bad in Vegas I ordered Brooklyn pizza from Goldbelly and sent it to my cousin who lives in Henderson so she can enjoy “real” pizza.

They should allow buses, rideshare, and cans down the strip and everyone else should use the routes behind the strip resorts

It IS cheap considering the amount of revenues the casinos are alleged to be making. Employees with poor job performance evaluations are rumored to have received free tickets to Criss Angel's shows.🤣

Gondolas are low capacity joy rides, not an actual transit solution at scale.

They should just make from Mgm to Wynn no cars and then just make tunnels for cars to go under the street so you could still get through the intersections

It shouldn't be impossible to walk in a straight line down The Strip. It's absolutely insane for those with any mobility issues. You are basically forced to go up and down stairs and enter casinos going in the opposite direction to get from hotel to hotel. They shouldn't eliminate cars, but they should definitely prioritize pedestrians. I think gambling is going to crash at The Mirage if they aren't part of MGM Rewards. I know I try to keep my gambling at MGM in order to accrue points in a single family of resorts. Also, status match sometimes expires at the end of the year, or at least that's how it works with Caesars. So not worth it to match until January.

Ugh kinda gross that the casinos are bringing in more money than ever and cheapening out on the very people who make it all possible. They handle all the drunks, messes made and abuse by tourists. BOO! Just wrong. Show appreciation, casinos!!

They need to expand the monorail to make an entire loop around the strip…have stations on the backside of Aria etc like they did with the monorail.
That would the the least invasive method to fix part of the problem.
Also have sky bridges between cross streets as well, not just at intersections

At least a couple of long blocks on the strip should be closed off to traffic. It would cost a lot, but couldn't they put the traffic in a tunnel for a bit?

marge johnson December 23, 2022 - 10:21 pm

I wish there was a better solution for pedestrian traffic. I have used the monorail a handful of times. It wasn't bad, but sometimes the walk to or from the station can be quite a long distance to walk in itself. The pedestrian bridges are great, until you have to walk around the less fortunate asking for money, or the performing musicians etc.. And crimes are not being reported by the news media every where.

A $100 gift card that can only be used at Caesars properties is like a $40 gift card that can be used in normal places.

I read about a robbery where the cashier being robbed asked to see the gun and the guy just turned around and left.

Travel Ruby was mistaken and I can confirm this with certainty. MGM Pearl gets the base status (Star), Gold gets Legend, Platinum gets Icon and Noir gets X. $100 in Unity Points (NOT freeplay) is being offering when you match to Legend. $300 when matching to Icon. $500 when matching to X. At a later time (once kiosks are installed) you can convert Unity points into freeplay. The redemption rate will vary based on tiers and it’s 2:1 for Star, 1.8:1 for Legend, 1.75:1 for Icon and 1.5:1 for X.

You kids don't remember the people mover from the strip INTO Caesars from the corner and from like the Forum shops now. It was really cool and worked 90% of the time. IN ONLY of course. It was a lot of fun. Hard to find pix I found some on post cards.

To call someone lazy for wanting to use an escalator is just silly with the insane amount of walking (behind slow people) it's nice to get a break. Plus you're stuck behind those slow folks on the stairs that aren't designed for that much traffic.

Maybe they could have Criss Angel use magic to levitate people up to the bridges when the escalators are down 😆

I can't believe I'm agreeing with Mark… but I actually think they COULD close down the strip from cars… if someone is willing to spend the money that is. If the county is willing to build under/over passes for all the cross streets like Desert Inn does… it would require insane infrastructure spending, but it isn't impossible.

Flamingo Linq and Harrahs all adapted to having their vehicle traffic enter from Koval. Most properties already have alternative access. It would take years… but it could totally happen some day.
