Episode Description
Back in 2021 the 10 acre parcel of Strip frontage where the #Riviera once stood was sold by the LVCVA. The sale was supposed to close by the end of 2022, but it has now fallen through when the buyer backed out. Is this the first sign of trouble on the #Vegas Strip or just a blip on the radar?
In other #news we have an update on the MSG Sphere and what it’s parent company is doing to get the cash to finish it. Plus Ellis Island has launched a new loyalty program, we take you on the ground at the newly announced Inspirada Station casino and a Vegas entertainment company is buying a small desert town to turn it into a Circus Village. Will this work?

Inspirada is a good neighborhood for people who live in Vegas. Good thing for local people.:)
Nice job boys.
How about the name Elon Rouge?
Drove by the Sphere today. Work seems to have stopped. 😢
Ellis Island definitely has strip views on Koval, but they do charge more for those frontside rooms, and they are the smallest rooms you'll find. They also have a very goofy 11 a.m. checkout that they are very strict about. I also noticed they have watered-down their rules to blackjack, eliminating surrender and making the $5 table a continuous shuffle machine. The other tables are still $10 and $15 minimum 6 deck blackjack with a hand shuffle, 3/2. They have one $25 double deck table and I would describe the penetration as some of the best in Las Vegas. Overall great casino with above average rewards for your low-stakes play. Low prices and quality food like you mentioned no doubt. I've personally never waited for a seat at Ellis Island. I recently tried Tahiti Vacation Club through a Marriott Bonvoy Comp. Great close-to-the-strip alternative.
Another informative excellent presentation by Mark and Shawn. Keep up the excellent work!
Someone said in a live chat that Garth Brooks has his tickets for sale already, so I hope they open on time. Apparently Garth is the first band in? Of course they can always reschedule a concert but I would think that to put tickets on sale they are going by some good promises it will be ready.
A circus town? I think they have the right location…….middle of the desert! I know I won't be going. Idea: If you have to bring your children to Vegas, park them in the Circus Village!!
Driving up in March to see Queensryche at Cannery. Thanks for the updates, looking forward to stopping at Buffalo Bills and walk thru the Primm mall. Like you Shawn buffalo 🦬 Bills is special to me…and yes I road the coaster back in the day!
Water…..where are you going to get water for all this shuff?
Hi there new to the channel. Your videos are great I've always been fascinated with Nevadas history new things happening. Most of my vacations as a child were literally to Vegas all my life lol. You know so much it would be great to see history videos of properties or lands and former things talking about the history of it all. Thanks for the content!
❤ great video today. I wouldn’t mind a casino in my back yard.
I dunno i try not to get caught up in all the fear mongering but when i go outside in reality and i see all the grocery prices sky high yet the food quality looks worse and more sparse than it use to i kinda have an eerie feeling over me that something massive and catastrophic disaster is on the horizon. Where is Tilam getting this kinda cash for these investments. he just bought the Montage in laguna beach for $600 million.
I have been going to Las Vegas since the early 80's. My last trip was June 2022 for the world series.
In my opinion Las Vegas has out priced it self and there is nothing to really attract people like a theme hotel — think Mirage here. By the way the clowns are are going to remove the volcano and put up a gitar — fk me.
Prices are through the roof for everything and service is bad — line up to the door to sign in and only two people at the front desk, only one restaurant open, one pool was open in the hotel I stayed at.
These corporates have destroyed this town. The new motto is: Min service Max profit.
We need the mob or a Bob Stupak to take over again. They knew what gamblers wanted — cheap rooms, cheap flights, cheap food.
Gamblers want to lose their money gambling and NOT be mugged right at front desk with a "resort fee".
All these casino's are claiming a profit now — Really ????
Probably because they got the money by ripping you off on room rates and resort fee's.
Las Vegas is just an expensive joke now.
Hope they go under.
Highly unlikely you will ever see a cougar (other than Las Vegas lobby bars)….lived in cougar central for 17 years and saw one (barely) at dusk….if you find 2 inch claws in your back and 3 inch fangs in your neck<~~~that's a cougar…..you'll never see it coming!
My beautiful girl Mia , my service dog was a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and we lived Vegas for Five years , and on one of our walks in Henderson by the reserve my dog came face to face with a Coyote, I nearly soiled my shorts , but Mia and the Coyote had a quick sniff of each other and then just casually walked by each other , it was so beautiful I’ll never forget it , By the way a big shout out too the locals of Las Vegas , I’m from England 🏴 and I was seriously hurt at a show there and spent five years in recovery and also trying too seek justice for my injury , you guys where so kind too me my family would not have been able too cope without your kindness ! I never knew what a great community you had here as a tourist, but as a resident I was so lucky too have experienced it .
Sean, do you ever get embarrassed or embarrass your family members when you pay with points and make a huge stink about getting full value?
great update looking foward to the new things coming inspirata will be nice
And where is the water coming from to support all this development?
It's my understanding that the coyote on the car was in Arizona. But a couple weeks ago, a person on Nextdoor uploaded a photo of a coyote in the Summerlin area (west side in the Vegas valley) holding a cat in its mouth .. a warning to neighbors not to let their cats outside. That coyote looked really healthy. It was reported that Stations Casinos sold their recently purchased 56.6-acre plot of land to HCA Healthcare for $62.3 million (S. Las Vegas Blvd & Cactus). So no Stations casino on S. LV Blvd.
There isn't a Knicks fan alive who doesn't want James Dolan to be forced to sell off the Knicks
Thanks for the news guys, as always. Your talk on Stations reminds me – GVR truly needs to update their rooms but I suppose if occupancy is good money will continue to flow into new projects. But that place is showing it’s age
Maybe it is just me, but the sphere is in a weird location, it would have made more sense to put it on the strip. There is that empty lot off Fashion Show and SLS… that would have made more sense.
What's a good casino to stay for old folks..like 50 and up.
I agree it would be great for a new property on the strip to bring back the name and brand of a former strip property. Stardust would be great and so would Riviera or Sands!
Less is more. Vegas is way too overbuilt already and is losing it's unique charm. It's WAY too expensive and contemporary. Don't like the look of the guitar. Liked the more detailed, colorful one. MEH.
Harold’s Club or Fitzgeralds.
Chris Angel Rules….🤣🤣🤣
Who is naming the the Casinos on the strip now,the horseshoe sounds like downtown Bakersfield, the Park MGM airport parking,Resort World,RV superstore.Bring back classy names like the Riviera,Monte Carlo they give a Image of class.
with the msg sphere, its going to be a money pit for at least 5 years due to financing issues. with the circus town, that would be cool, and ya, mark stole my joke.. grrr.. i would purchase the vacant lot and put up a todd english style hotel there as there is nothing like that on the strip. i think it would do well and fill a niche that you only see off freemont..
Uping the game on the Roadrunner..
I agree with Mark, here is a chance for Boyd to buy that land and return the Stardust resort back to the Strip!
I have seen dozens of coyotes all over the Chicago area at all times both day and night, both in the suburbs where I live now and in the city when I lived there. Seriously one even walked through the front door of a Quiznos Subs downtown years ago! Also, yes, would be fun to see some of the names of the older casinos come back.
