Welcome to MtM #Vegas – Our weekly look at the cool #news and happenings in Sin City.
This week we preview my stay at #Circa and how the weather isn’t in my favor for a swim. Plus we break down the news that Virgin Hotels Las Vegas won’t allow outside food & drink for hotel guests plus how exactly is the pool changed (cut) from what the Hard Rock had.
We also learned that the city of Las Vegas has voted to approve marijuana drive-thrus plus performers no longer need a 25 foot buffer between them and guests. That should help more shows open. Caesars reportedly is cutting a practice known as grandfathering. What is it and how will that impact you? And speaking of impact, the Strip’s ongoing construction project is moving. Don’t expect it to be finished until 2024. It should bring quite a few improvements though.

I will sleep in my car before supporting any hotel with this absurd rule.
Sounds like Caesar’s is losing the plot with all these changes!! Looking forward to the Circa vlog and especially the pool area and don’t smuggle any prescription drugs in etc !!😂🇬🇧
If the “snacks” are in your suitcase and you enjoy the items in your room. You will be fine.
If the virgin food/drink policy is just to prevent people from walking around with a giant coolers of beer, and bags of taco bell or a bucket of KFC, then I might be on board, but this seems like they really don't want any food or even water, seems way to restrictive. Diabetics and health conscious people might need their own food, generally restaurants aren't all that healthy.
I have a cpap machine that requires distilled water. I can’t bring water on the plane in my luggage so there needs to be medical exceptions to this rule. I should be allowed to get a jug of distilled water to being it up to my room
Enjoy your informative videos. Love the chapter/segment breakdowns. Keep up the great work. We've stayed at just about every property on the strip (less Caesar’s Ent. Group places where we NEVER stay) many post the whole 'no outside food or drink’ program. Rarely is it enforced unless you decide to indiscreetly roll in coolers, cases of bottled water (what a waste…) and boxes of food perched on top of your luggage. Don't be that tourist. Pack an extra bag and stow it all inside. Problem easily solved. FFS. Show some gumption and resourcefulness… Open personal containers ARE allowed in every property/casino. We know because we've asked. Never an issue.
Lastly, Resort fees will simply be eliminated from as a line item on your invoice and be folded in to the room rate.
I’ve read that, as well, about the event space at Virgin. The day club x club x event space is said “to rival EDC and Coachella”… clearly they can’t hold that size of crowd but maybe they’re speaking to the festival style line ups held on the grounds?
Any idea when the hot tubs at the pools will be allowed to re-open? I was in Vegas 4X in the last 9 months, seems silly, you're in the pool, the hot tub is 5 ft. away and it's full of water but roped off.
You guys should do an in depth of Venetian/Palazzo after the sale goes through. With Apollo taking over, I guarantee the employee head count will go down 15-20%. Guaranteed!
So nice to know that NW Michigan can claim something in common with Vegas – never thought I'd see that lol 😎😎😎
Ho rah for the Stoners, drive ups help after the munchies and the fact your lazy if you smoke the stuff!
It is really like Caesars Ent. is trying to keep people out. I shredded my Caesars rewards and credit card after it came out about them withholding liquor from the drinks. And man, with each update Virgin is sounding worse worse, i loved the Hard Rock and hope they open up another location in Vegas. Thanx for another great update.
No way they can enforce that. I think it's just so if there is an issue they can pull it out.
Somebody got a chair from Cosmo
I understand the food rules cuz if it was your business you would do the same. Casinos want to make money not loose money. They want to stay open. 👍
Circa pool — no cameras, but cell phones are cameras….so no cell phones are allowed????
It is based on all the Doordash and Uber Eats delivery.
Lmao virgins making fans already 🙄 F that place
VIRGIN HOTELS BETTER HAVE VEGAN OPTIONS FOR GUESTS THEN BECAUSE OTHERWISE WED STARVE TO DEATH
I've already backed off from play at Caesars and they have just about eliminated my business. I've been really happy with my recent stays with MGM (Delano, Luxor). I prefer the south part of the strip as it's not nearly as crowded and has what I need. The center strip has been a nightmare during COVID. People everywhere. The only center strip place I visit now is Ballys for craps. Luxor/Excalibur/Mandalay Bay has most of it covered. What I can't get there I'll go off strip to South Point or the Cannery. Caesars seems to raise their prices, their minimums and lowers their value and customer service. That's enough for me.
Any news on when Resorts World might open?
Yeah I will pass on places like this. That is such BS
I have become a #circafanboy
After finally seeing it in person last weekend, I love that place!
Hi Shawn and Mark! Thank you for yet another great info filled video. Great Job! Shawn; I hope you and your wife had a fabulous wedding anniversary. I do think that the Virgin Hotel is off point on the no food or beverage. However, there is no way they are going to be able to control that! Seriously. CAB 😊
Stayed at Hard Rock Hotel many times. They had the same policies as Virgin. I Always brought in any provisions necessary, discreetly, of course.
Of course, you can break the rules in hope that you will not get caught, and chances are you will not get caught
People who rob the bank are thinking about the same thing too
Terrible policy! Makes me think 3 times x before staying there
I buy some bottled water to help brush my teeth (can't stand using the tap water in Vegas).
I get the policy. I’ve see people come in with coolers on wheels at some Casinos. It’s trash.
There is no “better” in LV anymore…..it’s all low level slop these days…..
Too many bean counters running Vegas now. Just not worth it to go there unless your on the west coast or its business paid for. With Covid going virtual i dont see companies spending money on travel in the future.
It appears they changed the policy to allow food and beverages in rooms for personal consumption sometime in the last few months. Another Vegas Youtuber commented on the same news, and a comment from two months ago confirmed they changed their policy. https://virginhotelslv.com/faqs/
