VTSAX if you are rich. VTI for everybody else, especially through M1 Finance.

Great video! Love the thorough information. Can you do a comparison of the various Robo Advisors like Vanguard Personal Advisor, Betterment, Schwab intelligent Portfolio etc? So awesome that you’re branching out into personal finance content

I like VTSAX (mutual and index funds in general) for my IRAs because they have annual limits, so I can buy fractional shares (or at least I don’t have a minimum I have to invest)—set it and forget it—-and I don’t have to worry about leftover funds that I can’t spend. I like VTI (ETFs in general) for my brokerage account, because I like to watch the performance throughout the day, and I don’t have an annual limit that constricts me.

Indexing is the best. My 401k is through Fidelity, I'm using their Total Market Index Fund which has an expense ratio of only 0.015%

Great analysis. I like the ETFs. No minimum investment requirement, no forced distributions, and the words mutual fund remind me of my first job out of college. Still waiting for Vanguard to create a fund that tracks the NASDAQ index..

With VTSAX you do not have control over capital gains distributions, Vanguard decides what to sell and when.
