That annual fee reduction seems tempting

I was approved for the vanilla platinum 12/16. I applied for the Schwab on 3/16/21. My application was canceled and I called and they said I was not 'denied' it was canceled since it was considered a duplicate application. This, as they say, since I already have a card in the platinum family I can't hold another. Is this something new?

do i have to have the schwab version to get the points when transfering or does it work with normal platinum as well?

I can't wait for the TD Ameritrade merger, so I can get a Charlies Schwab AMEX. It'll look even cooler than my Venmo Visa.

Call me crazy, if you're investing $1,000,000 with a bank, they should be able to waive 100% of a credit card fee!!! LmFao

Just FYI Schwab checking automatically open a connected brokerage account. You don’t have to use the brokerage account but because they are not a traditional bank, the banking aspect is considered an “Add on” to a brokerage account

Little typo @7:31. I assume you mean "Hilton" and not "Hiton"

The biggest benefit I have from this card is not applying for it or using it whatsoever yeah, not being beholden to the lender that’s what I enjoy….Thank you Dave Ramsey

So is this affecting the lounge entry that AE is speaking of. I have a Schwab AE card. It seems like it has gotten confusing.

Don't you need a million in your schwab holdings to qualify for the $200 credit?
That's a huge flex and not realistically achievable for most people.

Credit Shifu: I currently have the "vanilla" AmEx Platinum and the AmEx Gold. I have Schwab brokerage + checking accounts, and plan on getting the Schwab AmEx Platinum. The Gold card I have had for just a few months, but the vanilla Platinum I have had forever—in fact, it's my oldest credit card. For maintaining my credit score, I'd rather not simply cancel the vanilla Platinum. But, I certainly don't want to pay the annual fee on both that and the Schwab Platinum. SO: I was thinking that after I get my Schwab Platinum, I would (a) cancel the Gold then (b) downgrade the vanilla Platinum into a new Gold. What do you think? Would AmEx let me do that? Are there any timing issues I need to think about? For example, would I need to wait until I've had the current Gold for at least a year, do you think? Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide!
